The stunning little bird from Bianco Blue gets its' inspiration from the GlassBirds.com logo and the beautiful Green Jay. The vivid lime green glass would be beautiful soaking up the rays while it sits on a windowsill in your home. The semi-transparent lime green glass is attractively adorned with a cascade of bubbles, giving the bird the appearance of texture while remaining smooth. Atop it's graceful body, rests a rich blue-green head and pointy beak.
Crafted in Fiskars, Finland exclusively for GlassBirds.com, the Green Jay is truly a one-of-a-kind piece of art you won't find anywhere else. The bird was designed by artist Tarmo Maaronen and mouth-blown by a small team of skilled blowers. Maaronen was born in 1963 in Urjala, Finland and has been blowing glass since 1979. He worked as a teacher of Scandinavian glass techniques from 1995-1997, until he founded his own glass studio Bianco Blu.
