Description
iittala and Oiva Toikka collaborate once more with the release of the annual FinnFest Bird. Designed to celebrate the annual festival of Finnish-American/Finnish culture and heritage, this year's bird is the Black Phoebe, a small black-and-white flycatcher of the Southwest.
Easily recognized by a characteristic tail-wagging motion, the black phoebe can often be found around people. Collectors will want this beauty close, too. Toikka's latest creation for 2012 features a base color of glossy, dark black-brown glass that is peppered with a soft grey along the breast of the bird. The cloudy white underbelly is infused with blue and acts as a nice fold to the gun metal grey of the bird's head. Measuring 6" x 3.5, the Phoebe is small, but striking. Faintly etched "O Toikka Nuutajrvi, FinnFest 2012", this limited edition bird is sure to delight.
Only available in the USA, celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Iittala Birds by Toikka with this unique flycatcher a throwback to the origins of the Iittala glass birds, which originated in 1972 with Toikkas small Flycatchers collection.
